The Finnish Cricket team seemed eager for revenge after the thrashing they had received in the first match. They brought in a few additional players to strengthen their batting and bowling. Estonia won the toss and decided to bat. Bilal opened the bowling and his furious pace seemed too much for the Estonian batsmen as Mart, Marko and Rana were out quickly. Estonia was reduced to 5 for 3 before Rob and Tim started rebuilding the innings.
Tim carried on from where he left in the previous match and was smacking the ball out of the park. Rob fell as he tried to up the tempo and was soon followed by Nand who fell to the same bowler brilliantly caught by Bilal at deep cover. Murali supported Tim well before he was run out. Tim played well and eventually was out caught.
The next two batsmen fell quickly as Estonia was reduced to 125/9 .Oliver played brilliantly hitting a couple of 4s and a 6 as Estonia managed to post 157 runs of their 20 overs.
Bilal and Rohollah opened the batting for Finland .Their intention was clear as Bilal hit the first ball for a Six. Both the batsmen attacked the opening bowlers, Murali and Vineeth. Finland were 41 of 4 overs when Murali got Bilal out, caught by Nand at Cover.
The Bowlers kept the next 2 overs tight as they conceded only 7 runs. Rana and Tim replaced the opening bowlers. But Rana had to be replaced by Rob from the attack as his first over went for 11 runs.Tim got Rohollah out bowled and Rob got Sherzad(who had dropped Tim thrice in 2 matches ) caught by Tim at long on. Nand was introduced into the attack and he took a fine catch of his own bowling to get Islam out.
At this stage Finland needed 36 of 24 balls with 6 wickets in hand. The equation seemed slightly in favor of the hosts. Vineeth bowled the 16th over and got Zahid out caught by Murali at long on, conceding only 5 runs in his over. The batsmen were swinging at every ball trying to get boundaries as Murali and Tim bowled the next 2 overs well, giving away only 15 runs . Now Finland needed 16 of the last over and it was up to Nand to restrict them.
A few inside edges and some brisk running by the Finns meant that they needed 10 of the last 2 balls. Kuchey played the 2nd last ball to third man and the ball fell awkwardly for Oliver as it ran away to the boundary. Would Kuchey be able to hit a six of the last ball to win it for Finland? Nand kept his cool and bowled a good ball cramping up the batsman for space to swing his bat and they managed only a single.
Anil the Estonian wicket keeper had done a fantastic job preventing a lot of byes which turned out to be crucial as Estonia won a thrilling match against a spirited Finnish team.
Man of the match Tim Heath : 62 runs and 1 wicket.
